Reading up about Ikenfell, a turn-based RPG based around a magic school. Visually, it looks like a cross between NES / SNES, lovely #pixel graphics. Looks really fun! The Kickstarter did over $60k with a goal of $25k, pretty awesome.

A quick stroll through the portfolio (http://www.trudiart.com/) of concept artist Trudi Castle () reveals a surprisingly wide range of styles. There's the beautiful and moody work on Hinterland Studios The Long Dark on one end and the playful, almost toddler-esque sugar coated graphics on World of Thingies and iconic 'Parkitect' monsters on the other. There's even a digi-comic collaboration (https://www.profil3.com/banana-story-baavj) between herself and Chris Bourassa for Darkest Dungeon. Although her work seems to focus primarily on games, she has also done work for Fantasy Flight card games such as Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Talisman and the like. There's a lot of great #indie stuff coming out these days (and much more in development). But a lot of it is quite derivative. #Jettomero by #GhostTimeGames looks really special. You take control of Jettomero to... I have no idea... stomp around micro planets before flying off to new ones? Is this some kind of comment on ... no, it's clearly just some robot stomper. I have no idea what the mechanics are but I don't care! The graphics are so quirky and engaging. I can't wait to try this out!

Watching the trailer for Western Press. Superb #pixel graphics and dueling gunslinger action but with a rhythm (think dance dance revolution) twist. You have a few seconds to punch a complex combo of keys. Whoever gets it first fires first. Pretty cool! Steam

Watching GIF's of #SteelAssault, an upcoming Robot Action Platform game. There's some really unique elements here (ie ziplining vertically) coupled with great Genesis / SNES style graphics. Nice work.

The graphics in Invisigun Heroes are sooooooooooo good. Tho tbh I'm not crazy about the actual game mechanics, but it is unique - a multiplayer, single-screen battle arena where everyone's invisible. Would love it if this were a puzzle game or RPG. But it is fresh...

Just discovered itch.io - a cool collection of indie games. Tower of Archeos looks pretty cool. Fun graphics, puzzle gameplay and RPG elements. This reminds me of a couple of other smartphone games, but it's for PC. Only $10, but it is beta so probably more content coming out in the future.
