Admittedly, I'm not a fan of the fad of 3D remakes, but I understand that those nostalgic for pixels are in the minority. I am showing my age a bit when I say that I did play the original Dragon Quest VIII back on the original console all those years ago, but I'm still excited to see that it's coming out again on the #3DS on January 20. Not content with just rehashing an old game, there are also two new playable characters and more side quests.
Having grown up on NES / SNES, there's a soft spot in my heart for classic RPG's like Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, etc etc. Strangely though, I never played Earthbound, which people are still raving about. But alas, it's fun to watch these streams of people doing speed runs of these classics.
originally shared this, but I had to repost as I'm such a massive Jet Set Radio fan. This game is very heavily inspired by the original, from the cel-shaded graphics, the ravey tracks and rollerblading. It's still in Alpha, but passed the #Kickstarter stage and is available as early-release on #steam.
