I think black thought they had me in a jam because they were going to make a queen. If I tried to block it, the bishop would take my rook. Black did not see that from this position I want black to make a queen. Black did make a queen and I took it, where black responded by taking my rook and I took black's rook. In the end, black traded me their pawn and rook for my rook. Thanks for the free pawn! I celebrated with a croissant! #food
I have no idea what to make of this game. It is my rook versus black's knight and pawn but my pawn structure is a disaster. Black's pawn structure is nicer. Black should be able to gobble up my pawns since they would be too hard to defend. If black did not resign, I think black could have grinded a win. I celebrated with red snapper teriyaki over rice! #food
This was a very close game. I usually lose these types of games because my tactics are poor. However, my opponent made a late game blunder and left the rook hanging. The best part was not the win but a rare person that resigned because usually they rage quit. I celebrated with vanilla wafers! #food
I put white in a jam. White has to use the queen to block my A pawn from promoting to another queen but my B pawn will slowly be moving up the board to get promoted. White can take my B pawn because I will not trade my rook for the bishop, but I will move my rook to the 1st rank and win white's queen. I celebrated with spaghetti with meat sauce! food
I was seemingly winning and my opponent went for a perpetual check to draw the game. It is not a bad strategy when you think (or know) you cannot win. However, after analyzing the game afterwards, my opponent could have won and there was nothing I could do about it. Black moves the rook to F2 then there is no move I can do to help and after I move black moves queen to H2 for checkmate. I celebrated with plain potato chips! #food
After a series of rapid trades, black did not notice my queen was pointed right at black's rook. Black took my knight and I got a free rook. Black did what I used to be guilty of, which I call the Video Game Mode. It is not a real term but I use that term when I kept thinking this was a video game that required an immediate response. I would forget that this game can be slowed down and I was allowed to think over my options. My knight had no safe squares if black moved the rook. I would have to
I could not resist giving my opponent (white) a nice block of pawns. He/she lost the game mainly because he/she gave away the dark square bishop for free and a rook for my light square bishop. White did manage to clear the C file of pawns but the 2 pawns on the B file remained. I celebrated my win with strawberry ice cream! #food #delicious #chess #icecream
